Voice AI start-up NLX has announced three new senior appointments as the company prepares for a period of further growth and expansion.

Brian Dawson has joined as Head of Business Development; Fadi Baaklini as Director of Product Management, and Ellie Ransom becomes Director of Business Operations.

Brian joins with more than 25 years of company growth and team leadership experience across a range of diverse industry verticals. Most recently Brian led product development in healthcare analytics. He has also played product and business development roles in entertainment, energy, transportation, IT systems, financial services, and data analytics. At NLX he will be integral to helping grow the company’s client list across multiple sectors as well as implementing operational scaling to meet increased market demand.

“I’ve had a passion for learning the psychology of helping people improve themselves, and I take that into every team, customer, employee, and personal life. If we can all help others improve, business improves, and we all grow,” he explains.

“We’re transforming the industry to help our customers communicate with their customers in a more efficient, effective, and personal way while cutting down their costs and reducing their lost opportunities. And more importantly, it’s exciting to be part of the vision of building a truly great company.”

Fadi is implementing and managing Agile Process for both project and product management. Using these methods, and working closely with the product team, he is responsible for marshalling the resources of the whole company, as required, to drive two-weekly sprints that deliver enhancement to both Voice Compass and NLX Studio products. He joins after nearly three years with Deloitte Consulting, and has experience of working with both large companies and start-ups, including JP Morgan Asset Management, Raytheon and IHS Markit.

Fadi says:

“For a long time, I have wanted to work on the most cutting-edge technology and shape products that leverage technology with agility, and which reflected what the market will be tomorrow, not just today.

What we do at NLX will reshape customer contact for the next decade. We want to make AI/ML approachable, simple, and intuitive to understand so anyone who has a business, small or large, can leverage our technology with minimal development to handle and simplify basic to complex customer self-service. Democratizing AI really excites me.”

Ellie joins after three years as Information Security Manager at online event marketing platform splashthat.com. Describing herself as “a challenge seeker, excessively organized, lifelong learner, and mindfulness enthusiast”, her primary goal in her new role is to scale the internal organization to take NLX to the next level.

“As someone who thinks about how the steps, we take now impact the future,” says Ellie, “I am truly excited about laying the operational foundations that marries what we need right now with what we will become.”

NLX CEO and co-founder Andrei Papancea comments:

“These are exciting times for us with considerable interest in our technology coming from a range of industry sectors from both within and outside of the United States. The ability to scale our business to ensure we can both serve our customers to best effect whilst also being able to exploit new opportunities as they come along is going to be critical. Brian, Fadi, and Ellie all bring diverse experience, skills and ideas to our table that adds something new and valuable to our team and makes us better equipped to take us in that direction.”
